Bob Hayward
Bob Hayward, aged 45 years old, lives in Swindon. He is married with four children. Bob is a director of Assessment Coaching & Training Ltd; a Swindon based Management Training and Consultancy business. For the past 10 years he has worked with a variety of businesses large and small across the UK and Europe. Inspired by Nick Baldock's run across America in 1999, he took up running completing his first half marathon at "The Great North Run" in Newcastle that same year. Each run has involved sponsorship and he has already raised 1000's of pounds for such charities as Cancer Research, Diabetes Research and Phab.
Nick Baldock
Nick Baldock, aged 45 years old, lives in East Hertfordshire. He is divorced and has a daughter Lauren aged 12. Nick is self employed as a freelance Sales and Management Training consultant. For the past 12 years he has worked with a wide range of companies across the globe. He first met Bob when he was fortunate enough to work with him on a project in Romania two years ago. Nick is a devoted runner having run over 17 marathons from Bolton, London, Dublin and New York. In 1978, he ran 880 miles solo from Lands End to John O'Groats. In the summer of 1999, he ran 2851 miles across the United States of America from San Francisco to New York in 132 days. His prized possession in life are his memories. His motto he says is "Life is what you make it"! Bob and I were looking to raise money for what we considered a worthwhile cause some time ago. We both knew after reading about 'Podge' it was him we wanted to do something for. "On meeting 'Podge' for the first time with Bob, I felt an overwhelming sense of humility at his courage and attitude to his experience". I knew that by doing this run with Bob, we could give the lad a chance...!
